In the past the Sarthe region was famous for weaving and lace-making. Situated on the outskirtsof the village of Fyé, the "cour" is surrounded by cottages which were inhabited "tisserands", weavers and lace-makers. This ancient cottage has been sympathetically restored keeping all the charm of bygone times. For those interested in Second World War history, Fyé was the scene of a major tank battle. After a two day siege, on August 11th, 1944 the village was liberated from the south by a French division lead by General Leclerc.
This cottage is ideally placed for visiting the surrounding area and perfect for quick trips to Le Mans or Alençon.

The accommodation consists of a lounge with an inglenook fireplace, wood burner and a winding stone staircase.

There are two steps down to a luxuriously fitted kitchen with breakfast area. Adjacent to the kitchen is a utility room with washing-machine, tumble-drier, W.C. and wash hand basin.

There is a dining room on the same level as the lounge. This seats seven people and looks on to both the garden and the "cour".
The master bedroom has an en-suite fully fitted bathroom with corner bath, W.C. and basin. Bedroom two has a double bed and a fully en-suite fitted shower room with W.C and basin. Leading from this, bedroom three has three single beds.

Outside there is a lawned garden, with children's swings and adjacent, secluded, south facing terrace, which is bordered by peach trees and vines, giving dappled shade for those very hot summer days.
